Flavio Carrión is a Biochemist, graduated from the Universidad de Concepción, Chile. Carrión has a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine, Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, Spain. Furthermore, Carrión earned a Master in Health Administration and Management, School of Medicine and School of Services Administration, Universidad de los Andes, Chile. Carrión research line is focused in the study of immunomodulatory mechanisms of Mesenchymal Stem Cells, cell therapy with Mesenchymal Stem Cells in proinflammatory and autoimmune pathologies. Furthermore, studies the immunopathogenic mechanisms in diseases mediated by the Immune System and diagnosis of Primary Immunodeficiencies. Carrión is currently the Scientific Director of the Translational Immunology Program in the Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD).
